Airbag XT floating palette: At any time the floating palette can be accessed through the menu item under the “Utilities” menu. A click on the “Update”button runs a new check. Double-clicking on a problem entry in the list will take you directly to the problem box.

Airbag XT

Airbag XT in its current version does just one thing: it checks for overset text/overmatter and warns the user – if and only if a problem exists. Otherwise it sits silently in the background. The user does not have to run the check routine explicitly – Airbag XT watches for overflowed text boxes when print, or create an EPS, or open or save a document. It only pops up when there are problems and allows you to jump directly to the relevant point in the document.

It has an intuitive and easy to use interface – the list in the floating palette will show all occurences of over- set text (with at least a small portion of the overset text itself), and a double click will take you to the overflowed text box.

In addition Airbag XT is controllable by Autopilot XT: It is possible to call its check routine whenever it may be needed during the execution of an automated Autopilot XT controlled production step.

Airbag XT menu items:

Two new menu items, one under the “Utilities” menu, one under the “Preferences” sub menu under the “Edit” menu, both named “Airbag

XT...”. The menu item under the “Utilities” menu will execute the check and show the

Airbag XT floating palette, the submenu item from the “Preferences” menu item will open the “Airbag XT Preferences” dialog box.

Airbag XT Preferences: According to the preferences set, Airbag XT will automatically run checks in specific situations: on open, save, print, or creation of an EPS. Optionally the process of printing/creating an EPS can be prohibited.

Requirements:

Airbag XT runs with QuarkXPress 3.31/3.32 on Apple Macintosh System 7 (680x0 or PPC processor).

Note: Airbag XT is not only a product, but also an ongoing project. callas software will listen very carefully to your proposals and feedback. Any check routine that possibly can be integrated into Airbag XT will be implemented if we feel that it would help many of the users of Airbag XT. Though we obviously cannot promise that every proposal will become part of Airbag XT it is YOU who can influence the way Airbag XT works when the next updates are released! For a period of six months from date of purchase every registered user of Airbag XT is eligible for a free update.
