EPS FILES BY THE BATCH
INSTRUCTIONS
USING GLUON EPSMaker™
THE MENU ITEM
Quark 3.x: When ProScale is present, EPSMaker’s functions are accessed through the GLUON Menu which appears on the right side of the menu bar. Otherwise it may be found in the Utilities Menu.
Quark 4.x: EPSMaker’s functions are accessed through Utilities Menu.
THE EPSMAKER DIALOG
EPSMaker can be used to create full page EPS files of your Quark document. Unlike Quark’s “Save Page as EPS...” command, EPSMaker allows you to create EPS files of a range of pages in your document unattended. Also you have a number of other options that don’t exist in the Quark EPS save routine such as spreads, bleed and font embed.
Save
Pages—Uses the exact page dimension
Spreads—Uses the exact spread dimension
Page Range—Set which pages to export
Options
Scale—Simply enter the scaling percent desired and the range of pages to EPS into the EPSMaker dialog.
EPS Options—Additional options such as encoding or picture types.
Add Bleed—will add the specified bleed amount to all sides of the page or spread.
Embed fonts—Will place postscript information into the EPS itself which contains the actual font description. This only will work if there exists a postscript (printer) font in the same folder as the screen font. It will not embed TrueType fonts.
Batch EPS Folder—Will ask you to locate a folder and then will process all pages of all documents in that folder.
Nested Folders—Will process any files found in enclosed folders within the original batch folder.
Upon hitting OK, a Save File dialog will then ask you where to save your EPS files.
The EPS files created with EPSMaker are now ready to be used in any application that allows for the use of EPS files, like QuarkXPress® or PhotoShop®.

Preparation
IMPORTANT: FIRST REMOVE ANY OLD VERSIONS OF THE EPSMAKER XTENSION AS THIS WILL CAUSE CONFLICTS IN QUARKXPRESS!
Installation—READ THIS BEFORE USING!!!
UNLESS IT'S A DEMO, Activate any GLUON by launching the GLUON Activator, provided. Place all GLUON Xtensions in the XTension folder inside the Quark folder or in the Quark folder itself. This process must be repeated for each machine upon which you want to use GLUONS. Once you have activated a machine for one GLUON, this machine will run all GLUONS so you do not need to repeat the process when you get new GLUONS.
IMPORTANT: GLUONS will not operate if the above activation procedure is not followed! Please keep the GLUON Activator in a safe place off the network. Also, you may need it again if the System or Quark is reinstalled.
